About Lift Kids

Lift Kids is a Minnesota-based non-profit organization with a mission to take action on the plight of impoverished children via a philanthropic franchise model centered on the Lift Kids Village. By partnering US immigrants with organizations on the ground, we create sustainable village communities according to a model that can be replicated and is scalable around the world.

About Minnesota Lynx/WNBA

In April 1998, the WNBA announced they would add two expansion teams, to be managed by the Minnesota Timberwolves and Orlando Magic, for the 1999 season. The Minnesota Lynx started their inaugural season in 1999 with 12,000 fans in attendance to watch the first regular-season game, against Detroit at Target Center.

In 2003, the Lynx finished with a then franchise-best 18-16 record and advanced to the WNBA Playoffs for the first time. Minnesota won its first-ever playoff game with a dramatic 21-point comeback in Game 1.

About the Event

A unique event, the United World Campaign at Target Center will offer something for everyone. The day-long celebration will feature youth performances, videos, guest appearances, artists, workshops, music, dance and information booths. At 6:00 p.m., the Minnesota Lynx take the court against Tulsa. Performances will continue throughout the game during time-outs and halftime. "Diversity and technology give us the opportunity and responsibility to unite our community and world," said Joseph Barrett, Executive Director of Lift Kids, Inc. Proceeds from the United World Campaign will help build self-sustainable villages in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
